Karami referred that Lebanon is still a target of the "Israeli" aggression through the espionage and agent network, in addition to the developed devices, where almost 200 "Israeli" agents were arrested in the last two years.
In a statement he delivered during his visit to the Minyeh, Faisal Karami wondered "Isn't espionage an assault? Why are we asked to stand against the resistance while every day we hear about a new airspace or maritime violation, and about "Israeli" drills in the Lebanese Shibaa farms with the acknowledgment of the UN?" "Isn't that an assault?" he further asked.
On the governmental level, Faisal Karami stated, "We were not surprised with anything, for March 14's stances are known, and the new majority's [March 8] stances are also known. Now everything is revealed, and there is no need to postpone the formation of the government, especially in light of the deteriorating economic situation".
Karami stressed that his team is looking forward to having a productive government capable of protecting the people, political, security, and economic stability.
He added that tackling the economic situation has become a crucial issue, urging relevant figures to speed up the government formation in order to boost the country, especially the north, which according to Karami, has always said to be a deprived area.
Regarding the Sunni representation in the government, Faisal Karami referred to the previous experience that occurred in 2005, in which General Michel Aoun and Suleiman Franjiyeh were rules out from the authority, and back then, they used to represent almost 80% of the Lebanese Christians.
In this context, Karami added that the Sunni position in the new government would be better than the Christian position in the 2005 government, saying that the Sunni representatives in the government represent more than 50% of the Sunni sect.
On the level of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) and the expected indictment, Karami stated that the biggest evidence that proved it is politicized, is that every time, they state dates about the indictment's issuance, and then retreat because of political reasons that sometimes are related to Lebanon or the repercussions of the regional situation.
On this level, Faisal Karami stressed that they are finding excuses to postpone the indictment's issuance, which he affirmed is politicized ever since Detliv Mehlis was the STL General Prosecutor.
Karami referred to the breaches present in the STL performance, especially after the "Truth Leaks" confirmed that some figures sold STL documents, in addition to the details regarding false witnesses Husam Husam and Zuhair Al Siddik.
Faisal Karami affirmed that all this is related to the resolution 1559, which initially targets the resistance, after that targeting its weapons, pointing out it was issued as a relief to "Israel".
Head of the Arab Liberation Party's Executive Board affirmed that no one should be deceived by what is said about the STL and the indictment. "The indictment will be issued, and we all are now aware of its content, and who will it accuse", Faisal Karami clarified.
On a relevant level, Karami stressed what is important now is the formation of the new government, which if formed quickly, will help reining the repercussions in case the indictment was issued.
Karami further affirmed that there is no need for any postponement of the new government formation.
